All three judges scored the bout 69-31 for Williams. Felton was down in the 2nd, and ran for the majority of the bout. (AP) Ike caught Felton with a smashing right in the second frame and Lester took a nine-count. He arose glassy-eyed. "Although (Felton) managed to keep out of range from the devastating power of his adversary, he was never in the fight thereafter." (The Ring. September 1950, page 44.)

West was a substitute for Bernard Docusen. West made a respectable showing for six rounds, but "Ike settled down to serious business in the seventh, (and) weakened Sonny Boy with a vicious body pounding, then switched to the jaw and spilled him for five. West was still wobbly when he came out for the eighth, and Williams finished him with another right in 43 seconds." (From The Ring, May 1950, page 43.)

This fight is listed as an exhibition in the records of the boxers, but the report in the Philadelphia Inquirer (Jack Kincaid) shows that an official decision was rendered, although Williams's lightweight title was not at stake. Referee Charley Daggert and Judges Pete Panatela and Harry Zaslow "all turned in 4-2 scores." Taylor "weaved, bobbed and battered the titleholder with left hooks and right swings to the head that frequently drove Williams to the ropes." Williams won the first two and the last two rounds but "was pounded violently in the third and fourth." Taylor weakened from Williams's body punching in the last two rounds and had all he could do to stay upright. "Williams donated his services" and "Frank Palermo, local manager of boxers, including Williams, paid all the other purses which amounted to approximately $1200."

Round-by-round, all three officials favored Williams by an 8-2 margin. Ratford was formerly a sparring partner for Williams. He gave a good account of himself and landed a lot of punches, but not with as much authority as those of Williams. Williams's best round was the eighth. 4,101 cash customers were on hand and the gross gate was $9,339.

This was a rousing battle. The decision was round-by-round, the referee favoring Williams 5-4-1, Judge Costella having it 6-2-2, and Judge Lasky scoring it 7-3. Williams won the first round, but Bratton took the next three decisively. Williams came out punching in round five and turned the tide. In the sixth, Bratton suffered a cut left eyebrow, and a cut on the right eyebrow in the ninth. Williams dominated the fight from rounds four through nine. The tenth round was sensational and about even. Attendance was 8015 and the gross gate was $31,017.

Giosa, a 4-1 underdog, led Williams for the first two rounds. At the end of the third, as the bell rang, Giosa dropped his arms and turned to go to his corner. Williams let go a right that dropped Giosa, he got up and went to his corner. His manager, Fats Garry, asked for time, but the referee told him there was no rule that would let him do that. Scoring: 7-3-2, 7-3-2, 7-5. Joyce was down for two short counts (3 count and 2 count) in the first round. The fast-moving Joyce landed more punches, but Williams landed the harder and cleaner wallops. Joyce was very tired in the last round, but managed to rally. "It was a mad finish to a stirring battle." Attendance was 11,000 and the gross gate was $37,891.

For three rounds Dawson "outmaneuvered, outboxed and outfought" Williams. He moved around the ring with great speed with Williams in pursuit. It looked like a big upset was in the making as Williams was the 4-1 favorite. A terrific right to the heart gave Ike a one-punch knockout in 1:43 of round four. The Attendance was 7620 and the gross gate was $19,380.

The official scoring was 4-4-2 (draw), 6-4 for Angott, and 5-3-2 for Williams. The referee voted for Williams and under the rules this gave the decision to Ike. It was Angott's mauling, swarming style against the cleaner boxing and sharper hitting of Williams. Attendance was 15,500 and the gross gate was $46,025.
