TKO45/0
Long Island, New York, USA
Promoted by Police Gazette as Middleweight Championship of America, 154 lbs ringside, with winner to receive its diamond belt. Rules were of London Prize Ring and skin tight gloves.
Reagan and Dempsey fought in two locations, reached by tug on the shore of Long Island Sound. After 15 minutes of fighting, a rising tide at the site of the bout forced the spectators and fighters to move 25 miles away. Reagan's seconds tossed in the sponge after the 44th round.
Dempsey's leg ripped open by Reagan's spiked shoes. Dempsey blamed Donovan for the spiking. Brooklyn Daily Eagle

TKO8/0
Turnverein Hall, Los Angeles, California, USA
Fight to the finish with gloves. Manning was heavily punished and repeatedly knocked down in the fight. The police captain stopped the fight in the fifth, but then said the fight could go on if larger gloves were used. The delay gave Manning time, but Dempsey again knocked him down several times once the fight commenced. In the eighth round, after another knockdown, the police captain steeped in and stopped the fight. New York Sun Sept. 13, 1885
