This bout was a decision win for Modzy per Rochester Herald. According to the Utica Daily Press, the bout was fairly even until the fifth round when Modzy socked a blow that created a cut over Graham's eye, causing it to bleed profusely. Garcia claimed he was butted but the referee would not allow it. The sixth round was rather farcical as Graham was cautious about his eye and slowed down considerably. This round went a long way in deciding the bout in Modzy's favor.
