Burns knocked Johnson down 5 times in the first round, and the big Frisco fighter had to be dragged back to his stool and revived. Less than a minute into the next round Johnson's corner threw in the sponge. Burns didn't get much credit for the win as Johnson was in visibly bad condition prior to the first bell. Johnson later announced he would retire and buy a butcher shop which was his old trade.
