Ridley claimed the Pacific Coast Bantamweight Title at this time.
"The fight was one of the best on the card. There is little question about that. The two men were by far the cleverest on the card. Ridley is one of the sweetest looking fighters who ever appeared here. He hits fast, and he hits accurately. He always seems to hold back about three inches of his reach for an emergency measure. His footwork is almost perfect. The only place he falls down is in standing the gaff when pressed hard by his opponent. In other words if a boxer carries the fight to him, and never gives him a chance to think, Bud Ridley loses some of his confidence, drops his guard, and slows up. That's how Georgie Lee won the last round and took a draw last night.... Fans are already asking for a return match between these two men. They want to see more of this Ridley chap. They also liked the looks of the Chinese last night." Sacramento Star
