World Bantamweight Title
Billed for the British version of World Bantamweight title (118lbs)
Three months before, Charley "Phil" Rosenberg had forfeited the Undisputed World Title by appearing in a title bout overweight. By virtue of this bout with Bell, Baldock was declared the World Champ by the British boxing authorities. (Bell would later face Pete Sanstol for another version of the bantam crown.)

"Only Lorenzo's gameness and recuperative powers enabled the east side lad to survive the six rounds. He was floored twice during the bout, once in the second round and again in the fourth session, under terrific rights to the jaw, and several times was sent staggering around under Baldock's [?]less fire."
