Khan wants Garcia in December

Post by digzee »

Amir usually calls someone out but you know its BS but with Garcia he actually seems serious and with a date set. I think he knows what he did wrong in the first fight and thinks he can outbox Danny without getting caught with his chin in the air. I actually think he can win this now he boxes more cautiously with Hunter. Danny or his old man have said before they don't want a rematch and I see that as a sign of doubt that they think they would win. There aren't many options at WW for Garcia as all the top names seem to be booked up (Thurman-Porter, Brook-Chavez, Bradley-Rios) and Garcia has had too many easy fights over the last year, surely he wont back away from Khan.

Typical Khan. Wait til the more dangerous fights are booked. He yapped about fighting Thurman too. Danny says he will fight no problem but his dad may kill it.

I'll be pleasantly be surprised if they fight. I expect the same result, only later in the fight this time.

If I'm DSG and Dad, i'm passing on this fight and the traveling clown show that is Khan. Everyone is fed up with Khan calling out these boxers and doing his negotiating through the media. We're also sick of him saying that fights are a done deal when a contract hasn't even been drawn up and sent by his promoters. He really is a clown and did a great job talking himself out of a payday against Floyd with that mouth.

Khans fighting Manny next year and that's that. Anything else that comes out of Khan's mouth is hot air and no one should take it seriously.

What would Garcia have to gain by taking this fight? No belt.

I fancy khan to win a rematch. By a close decision.
I can't see khan getting caught by swift again.

What are his other options? The gain is to fight and beat his first top 10 welterweight.

Beating Khan isn't a statement really though considering he hasn't really fought any genuine Welterweights himself. I am not a Khan hater like some, I really like Khan, but Garcia should be looking at someone like Porter, Vargas, or perhaps even the Pacquiao retirement fight.

Khan is a more proven WW then Garcia, Garcia has only fought Peterson and a shot Paulie at WW so a win over Khan would be a step up. Vargas and Pacquiao are out of the question, Porter looks like he's fighting Thurman and he's too dangerous anyway.

Its a very logical fight for both right now Khan gets to fight for revenge and Garcia gets a name on his WW resume, like it or not Khan is a name. Plus both would get paid handsomely.

doesn't khan have the silver title, kind of like an interim or #1 contender type belt?
boxing is a business and garcia should take the most reward with least risk if he is
approaching it as a business. garcia would become a top contender for the WBC by
taking khan's silver title and probably make more money than any of his other
potential opponents. i would reverse the question and ask, who else would garcia
gain more fighting with that amount of risk? contrary to the others in the thread,
i think the longer this fight goes the more i woulde favor khan. i would pick garcia
by early ko again, and if he didn't get it then khan probably has the survival skills
this time to win by decision.

Yeah Khan has the silver title, I agree with everything you wrote this fight this fight makes sense for both.

I wouldn't be surprised if Garcia fought someone like Aaron Martinez next though.

Nah, Khan would get KO'ed again.

Garcia was already getting close by the end of the second round. It wasn't some lucky punch.
Since that fight, Khan hasn't improved, his opponent skill level has decreased.

Garcia would KO him in the 3rd this time.

diaz just beat peterson to the punch and outworked him every round, but got
robbed on the cards. those cards were ridiculous. khan could finally get his revenge
at welter against this version of peterson.

The fighters Khan is talking about lately are guys with fights already lined up. Bradley, Thurman, and Brook.

I guess he is being a little more quiet now since he was caught in the lie about Manny not signing the contract....when there was none to sign. Sound familiar? Anyway, I expect him to fight someone that is not a big puncher, maybe Jesse Vargas or the guy Peterson just beat. How about Berto or Soto Karass at least? Or Guerrero? Mosley and Provo claim Khan turned them down.

If he's on his A game Garcia is a risky fight and one Khan could lose to again.

Khan lives in his own world one where he thinks he's on a Mayweather and Pacquiao level.

Khan goes life n death with guys like Algieri and Old man Diaz what do you think Garcia, Thurman and those guys would do to him.

Anyone thinking Khan can actually beat Garcia are out of there minds.

Khan can barely stand up to the shots of the "hard hitting "Chris Algieri.

Cmon folks dont let khan pull a fast one on you guys AGAIN.

Reckon Garcia takes it though good on Khan for calling him out.

Not as if Garcia's faced any decent opposition lately
