Read an interview with Terry where he said he found out years later that Manley wasnt right and that detracted from it a little.

Some lovely left hooks from him throughout. I watched the fight originally as a 7 year old - apart from Bruno the first boxer I was a fan of.

Excellent finishing from Marsh to KO Manley,he never let him recover from the knockdown in the previous round,it was scrappy at times,a lot of holding from both men but Terry was in front from start to finish,I gave Manley a share of the 6th that was it,he looked a bit caught in the headlights, maybe the crowd got to him? Either way Marsh was brilliant and took full advantage, his left hook was superb, the left hook/right hand KD was nice too, very classy boxer

Marsh boxed beautifully again in the Scapecchi fight, constantly pumping out the jab and making Scapecchi miss and countering him,Terry won every round until winning in the 6th,I've seen the finish about 5 times and still can't tell what put Scapecchi down, there was no replay and the ref was in the way, I didn't see a punch land I think Marsh just broke his heart

Wondered why he retired only one fight later and found this

"allegedly, Marsh's ex-manager, was shot twice in the chest outside the Broadway Theatre in London on November 30, 1989. The shooter was wearing a coat with a hood, and he had a scarf or mask covering the lower part of his face. The gunman was tackled by a business associate of Warren's, but he broke free and fled. A bullet narrowly missed Warren's heart, but he was able to fully recover.
Marsh was charged with attempted murder and spent ten months in jail awaiting trial. He was found not guilty on November 7, 1990.
The prosecution had argued that a libel suit filed against Marsh by Warren was the motive for the shooting.
In January 1989, Marsh appeared on a British television show and said Warren had encouraged him to sign a contract to defend his title even though Warren knew he had been diagnosed as an epileptic. Warren denied the allegation and sued Marsh for libel. Warren lost the case on October 30, 1992."

Pretty crazy stuff, can't believe I never knew this

Marsh - Manley

1. 10 - 9. Marsh. Manley missing badly, very inaccurate. Good opener for Terry
2. 10 - 9. Marsh. Manley landed a few more. But often landing a jab when Marsh let 3 shots go. Marsh definitely landed more
3. 10 - 9. Marsh. Mixing up left jabs and left hooks. A combination I don't see used so often, but can be really hard to guard against
4. 10 - 9. Marsh, untidy round with every exchange falling into a clinch
5. 10 - 9. Marsh. Manley missing badly again at times. Marsh should try to stay out of these clinches, having so much success when he lets his hands go, he had him hurt a couple times here I felt
6. 10 - 10. Another scrappy round. Picked up a bit in the last minute or so. Manleys best round by a distance
7. 10 - 9. Marsh back on top and hurting Manley with some of these shots. Manley looks done
8. 10 - 8. Marsh. Manely did well to stay on his feet, completely one way traffic. Love Marsh's left hook, seems to be able to let it go anytime
9. 10 - 8. Marsh. Started scrappy but Marsh took over and dropped his man
10. TKO. I probably wouldn't have sent Manley back out there. He was well beaten and not fully recovered from the knock down

90-80 Marsh

I read the interview where Marsh talks of Manley not being 100%. Didn't say what was wrong with him but I can quite believe it. Manley looked a long way from world class there. He missed a lot of shots, some concerningly wide of the mark or falling badly short

Great performance from Marsh though, dominant throughout, worked really hard and landed a lot of good shots in every round.
Liked that left hook of his. He could lead with it, throw it off a left jab or at the back of a left/right combo, used it backing away from a combination or coming out of a clinch
