I though Frankie and Don might have been on first, then the big 7, looks like i thought wrong
Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
makes sense putting the 3 brummies last as most of their fans will be at the game

Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
so Gavin wont get shown at all I presume??
Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
I'd imagine they'll show it 'twixt something else - televised bills rarely get shown in the order they happened.
remember seeing Enzo holding a bag of ice on his eye before SKY even showed his fight?

Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
There is no way sky will show all the fights live. Remember when Hatton vs Lazcano was billed (all the time) as 5 title fights - we only saw 3 live I think, and highlights of the rest.
Usually (with hype and all) Sky takes over an hour to showcase a 12 rounder, if they go the distance we'll be pushing for 8 hours of boxing - no chance.

Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
I was under the impression that all 'Mag 7' fights were getting shown live and in full - is that not the case?
Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
how can it be?
they've never done it previously. I'm struggling to think of one live broadcast SKY have done it with.

Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
Me too Dioufy, especially as the PPV starts at 6pm, perfect timing to show degale live, the rest of the fights will followDioufy wrote:I was under the impression that all 'Mag 7' fights were getting shown live and in full - is that not the case?
Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
To me, that was the only was this PPV would be a success. I'm not buying it, because it's mainly a domestic-standard bill, and I made that decision when I believed all 7 fights would be shown. If that's not the case, then I can see this PPV being pitiful, in terms of people buying it.Josh1111 wrote:Me too Dioufy, especially as the PPV starts at 6pm, perfect timing to show degale live, the rest of the fights will followDioufy wrote:I was under the impression that all 'Mag 7' fights were getting shown live and in full - is that not the case?

I think Sky will have to show at least 7 fights (the magnificent ones) in their entirety. Whether or not there is a delay or rearranging of the order they run them is not that important.

European Middleweight Title
Matthew Macklin v Shalva Jomardashvili
WBO Light-heavyweight eliminator/Interim Title
Nathan Cleverly v Karo Murat
British & Commonwealth Heavyweight Title
Sam Sexton v Derek Chisora
European Light-Middleweight Title
Matthew Hall v Lucas Konecny
World Welterweight Title Eliminator
Kell Brook v Michael Jennings
European Cruiserweight Title
Enzo Maccarinelli v Alex Frenkel
British Super-Middleweight title eliminator
James DeGale v Carl Dilks
All 7 fights are listed, relax. They will show them but logic dictates that there's no way they can show them all one after another, live. There's always some interminable wait between fights in real time, some sort of delay. Look at the way they've listed them above ^ that's almost the reverse of the order that SN have listed them in.
They will show some live but not all in a row. I'd be amazed if they showed them bang bang bang. Unlikely that all 7 went the distance, but if it did that's an absolute minimum of 7 x 12 x 4 minutes, which is nearly six hours..and that's not allowing for anything like ring entrances, talking heads, studio waffle, ad breaks blah blah.

Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
Sorry I skimmed read the beggining, I think they might show them all live.... I doubt whether sky will showcase the PPV without even declaring the result of a few of the fights, which is what they would have to do in this instance.
Although I will be very suprised if Degale starts at 6.05.
Dave Darts won't have had time to do his grin by the time of the first fight.
Brace yourself for a long night of boxing guys

They can't run them in that order if the order on FW's website is correct.orbtastic wrote:http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12947,00.html

Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
Maybe not showing every fight live, but at least in full at some point in the evening.

Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
Yes. I'd imagine if there's a 12 rounder that's dull they will show highlights.Dioufy wrote:Maybe not showing every fight live, but at least in full at some point in the evening.
Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
I don't know about you, but I can't watch any fight unless it's in full. There's nothing worse when you're watching FFN and it cuts from round 2 to round 4. I lose interest in it almost immediately.orbtastic wrote:Yes. Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
They are advertising it as the magnificent 7, they will have to show all fights in full, wont get away with not doing it. And as the show runs from 6pm on PPV till probably gone 11pm, i cant see how they will not show them all live, barring the 4 rounder which will be shown before 10pmorbtastic wrote:Yes. Re: Magnificent 7 - Running order
If it's boring or repetitive, I tend to switch off - same is true watching boxing in the flesh. Time to get a drink or empty the bladder.
I mean, I can't understand the logic of showing highlights of Thompson/Rothmann as the BBC did, but by all means save us having to watch Akinwande/Nelson in full.
Do you really need to see the whole of Olusegun/Lynes? I doubt even Olusegun watched it.
I could understand it [wanting to watch the fight in full] if it was something like Burns/Martinez, where no round was a foregone conclusion but Booth/Molitor was pretty boring/tame in the mid-rounds. It's not a fight I'll bother watching again.

Click the link I posted, it's SKY's list. I don't know why they've listed them in that order, or even if that's what their suggested running order is.SweetLikeSugar wrote:I'm sorry, what are you getting at with the order you have put. The replies in this thread lead me to believe that not many of you have seen live boxing then watched the same bill later on TV?

I was only trying to say the order in which Sky have listed them is physically impossible.
