Middleweights: Bobo Olson vs Carmen Basilio
This is a slugfest from start to finish. Who wins this match?
This would be good one, and I think Carmen would win it, especially if its scheduled over 15 rounds instead of 10. Over ten rounds I can see Bobo getting a split duke, but it would be close as both men would be right in front of one another and waging close quarters warfare... it would be a tough one to score.
Over 15 though I see Carmen`s better stamina and constant pressure and body punching taking its toll on Bobo late in the fight, and I think Carmen would sweep the championship rounds to pull out the decision. He might even get the stoppage win over Bobo who`s chin was fallible, but I think Carl would be able to take what Carmen would dish out and last the distance.
Carmen W15 Bobo in a good competitve fight. If they fough a series of say 4 fights, I think Bobo would win one or two of them as he was good enough on his best night to get the better of Carmen at least once.
