12 June (104lbs) Albert Cocksedge w co 4 (12) Bert Chatterton, Harry Cullis’ Monument Road Gym, Birmingham, England. A return match between the pair saw Cocksedge turn the tables on Chatterton this time round, boxing well within himself and never letting the latter close enough to deliver his dangerous right hands. Having outspeeded his rival in the opening three sessions, Cocksedge had a good lead and in the fourth a right under the heart dropped Chatterton for the full count.
Although there was no title billing Cocksedge once again assumed control of the 104lbs weight class, but following several catchweight contests he was unable to make the weight again and had moved on by the end of the year despite the Mirror of Life claiming that he was still the 104lbs champion on 5 September 1908.
