1894-06-22 (140lbs) Joe Walcott w co 6 (10) Mike Harris, The Casino, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Referee: John Kelleher. Made at 140lbs, and defending his claim at the weight, Walcott (138) chased Harris (138½) all round the ring in the sixth round, hammering in lefts and rights, before dropping him for the full count. Harris was down three times in all.

On 25 July, Walcott, claiming to be the 140lbs champion of America, challenged England’s Harry Nickless to decide the world title at the weight.
