1894-09-25 (135lbs) Jack Everhardt drew 25 Stanton Abbott, Olympic Club, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Referee: John Duffy. Billed for the world 135lbs title, this was a rematch following the accusations that Abbott had been unfairly treated first time round. On this occasion there were no knockdowns and no apparent fouls by Everhardt (133), who forced the fight all the way while looking to be a deserving winner. Although Abbott (133½) remained strong throughout only occasionally did he look likely to do any real damage to Everhardt as the fight ran its course.
