1899-04-03 (133lbs) Spike Sullivan w rtd 7 (25) George Kerwin, Greenwood AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Made at 133lbs, Sullivan successfully defended his title claim at the weight when he finally got Kerwin’s measure. Having been dropped in the sixth, Kerwin’s seconds rushed in to the ring during the seventh to rescue their man after he had been put down again by a right to the head, following a battering from head to body.
