1899-08-11 (128lbs) George Dixon drew 20 Eddie Santry, Broadway AC, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Johnny White. With the Articles of Agreement calling for both men to be inside 127lbs, this one was assumed to have been a defence of Dixon’s 128lbs title claim. Closely contested, Santry’s advantage in height and reach held him in good stead while Dixon was occasionally wild and often overreached himself.
