1902-02-27 (115lbs) Harry Forbes w pts 15 Tommy Feltz, West End Coliseum, St Louis, Missouri, USA. Referee: Red Sheridan. Billed as being for the American and world 115lbs titles, Forbes held on to his title claim at the weight after 15 rounds of fast, hard and persistent milling. The decision was roundly booed, many feeling that Feltz, who was also claiming the title, deserved something better. However, at close quarters Forbes had scored well with left and right hooks, and the people at the back of the hall would not have noticed that. The only ‘light’ moment came when the electricity went off for about 30 seconds towards the end, the referee commanding both men to return to their corners until advised to continue the action.
