1904-02-15 (146lbs) Jack Clancy w pts 15 Pat Daly, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: J. H. Douglas. Billed for the world 146lbs title, with four-ounce gloves the order of the day, the contest was scrappy with too much holding to be considered top-notch. Although Clancy landed the harder, cleaner punches, especially in the fifth when he almost finished Daly off, with there being little momentum throughout the referee had to caution the men on a couple of occasions for foul play. Towards the end Daly came more and more into it, but Clancy, who had made too much headway in previous rounds to be overhauled, was unsurprisingly given the decision.
