1904-07-23 (144lbs) Bobby Dobbs w co 2 (15) Bill Chester, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Originally billed for the world 140lbs title, unfortunately when Dobbs (144) failed to make the weight the fight went ahead at 144lbs, with Chester (139) taking on a man already claiming the title at that poundage. After Chester stormed out of his corner in the opening session so intense was his attack that Dobbs, who had already been decked, sought the canvas on his own account. However, in the second round when the onrushing Chester left his guard down he was countered heavily by a left-right, nicknamed ‘Bobby Dazzler’, and was counted out on the 1.20 mark.
