1908-08-24 Tommy Burns w co 13 (20) Bill Squires, The Stadium, Sydney, Australia - WORLD. Referee: Harry Nathan. A return match between the pair, only this time in Australia, Squires (184), who gave the champion all the trouble he could handle in many of the rounds, had his man groggy on at least two occasions. As the fight progressed it became difficult to call, but having hurt Squires in the 12th when Burns (181) opened up in the 13th he soon put the Australian down for ‘nine’. Although Squires was soon back on his feet, after taking another count a right hand to the jaw put him down and out.
