1914-05-29 Jack Dillon nd-w pts 10 Battling Levinsky, Federal Park, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - USA. Referee: Ed Smith. Made at 175lbs, the Indianapolis Star reported that Dillon (162) made a fast start when driving Levinsky (170) around the ring in the opening four sessions before the latter settled down. At the start of the seventh there was no question as to Dillon’s advantage, Levinsky being content to dance away with the left jab while showing what a good defensive boxer he was prior to coming right back into the contest. The last two rounds saw Levinsky battling like a wild man as he brought the crowd to its feet with sensational rallies, and although he was adjudged to have lost the press decision he showed a marked improvement from his earlier contests against Dillon.
