1920-07-20 (158lbs) Johnny Wilson nd-drew 10 Young Fisher, The Arena, Syracuse, New York, USA. Referee: Walter Kelley. The Syracuse Post-Standard gave this one as a billed 158lbs title fight. Although the southpaw champion won the opening session all other rounds except the sixth were either shared or went the way of Fisher, who put on the best show of his career. Fisher’s best round was the third in which he shook Wilson up with several right-hand smashes, and throughout the contest he was always looking to drop a man who was just intent to remain standing until the final bell. It was also noticeable that having brought his own referee with him enabled Wilson, who finished with damage over both eyes and a badly lacerated mouth, to violate the rules at every opportunity.
