1979-06-03 Sang-Hyun Kim w pts 15 Fitzroy Guisseppi, Changchung Gym, Seoul, South Korea - WBC. Referee: Abraham Echevarria. Scorecards: 146-142, 148-141, 146-140. Making a solid start, displaying superior hand speed, the champion floored Guisseppi (139½) with a sharp southpaw left to the jaw in the second, but was unable to follow up his advantage as the veteran fighter showed good defensive ability. After a period of superiority for the champion there was little between them in the middle rounds, and although Kim (139½) appeared to have an edge he was dropped by a right smash in the 11th round. Lucky to be saved by the bell, the 12th saw Kim under attack as Guisseppi went all out with blows to head and body. Having survived the onslaught, in the final session it was Kim's turn to drop Giusseppi. However, the Trinidadian got up to make it to the gong.
