1987-02-14 Evander Holyfield w rsc 7 (15) Henry Tillman, Bally’s Hotel & Casino, Reno, Nevada, USA - WBA. Referee: Carlos Padilla. Making his first defence, against his former Olympic Games team-mate, Holyfield (188½) was quickly down to business, having his rival over with a right to the face in the second round. Although Tillman (189) got to his feet and tried to fight back it was noticeable that Holyfield had the power. Attacking Tillman to the body was paying dividends, the latter running out of ideas by the sixth as Holyfield kept coming on. In the seventh Tillman finally crumbled, and after being dropped three times by heavy lefts and rights the fight was terminated at 1.43 of the session under the three knockdowns in a round ruling.
