1989-07-21 Mike Tyson w rsc 1 Carl Williams, Convention Centre, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF/WBA/WBC. Referee: Randy Neumann. Boxing well from the opening bell, his 14-inch reach advantage allowing him to keep the champion on the end of the jab, it looked like Williams (218) might be the man to give Tyson (219¼) a fair test. However, in leaving his right hand low he paid the price when caught by a crashing left hook to the jaw. Dropped heavily, after making two attempts to get off the floor the referee called the fight off with only 93 seconds on the clock, stating that Williams had looked to be concussed and was unable to respond to a simple question.
