1886-03-23 (118lbs) Tommy Warren w rtd 46 (finish) Tommy Barnes, Mill Creek, Kentucky, USA. Referee: Frank Whitney. Held near the Cincinnatti Short Line Railroad, both men agreed to fight with two-ounce gloves under MoQ Rules and it was reported as a fight that would settle the American 118lbs title. A desperate affair, it came to an end after Warren (118) finally got on top of Barnes (117½), having earlier been dropped. At the start of the 46th round Barnes was deemed to have retired when unable to get off his stool at the bell, the fight being awarded to Warren.
