1887-04-12 (140lbs) Young Mitchell drew 47 (finish) Jack Hall, Foley’s White Horse Gym, Sydney, Australia. Recognised as being for the Australian version of the world 140lbs title under MoQ Rules, the contest was eventually stopped at the end of the 47th round and called a draw after Hall did nothing but speed around the ring from the 33rd round onwards, having been knocked down repeatedly. The decision was agreed upon by both sets of corners when, with both men worn out, there was little or no chance of a finish being achieved. Lasting three hours, it was also reported as a 37-round finish in some records.
