1887-04-30 (124lbs) Ike Weir w rtd 21 (finish) Willie Clark, Long Island City, Queens, NYC, NY, USA. Referee: Al Smith. Contested in skin-tight gloves at 124lbs in a country hotel, Clark took a battering from the start. Dropped twice in the opening session and cut badly over the left eye, Clark went to the floor several more times before being retired at the end of the 21st round, his face a bloody mess. Weir had been troubled several times during the course of the fight, but always held the upper hand and ultimately punched Clark to a standstill.
