30 May (112lbs) Nunc Wallace w co 5 (12) Sam Tongue, Birmingham, England. Referee: Bill Brown. Meeting in a quiet suburb, the winner would advertise himself as the English 112lbs champion. Following a very fast and interesting four rounds, Wallace knocked out his fellow ‘Brummie’ with a hard right to the pit of the stomach.

Some five months later, Charlie Smith won Jem Mace’s English championship competition at the weight when outpointing Charlie Sinclair over three rounds at the Waites’ School of Arms, Piccadilly, London on 3 December.
