1887-10-19 (135lbs) Billy Myer w co 5 (finish) Harry Gilmore, Miller’s Landing, St Croix Falls, Wisconsin, USA. Billed for the American and North-West American titles, and contested in skin¬-tight gloves under MoQ Rules, it began with both men rushing into each other for a round or two. At the end of the fourth Gilmour (134½) could hardly stagger back to his corner, and in the fifth, Myer (135), driving forward, knocked his rival out with a series of short-arm blows.
