1887-12-12 (118lbs) Pudney Sullivan w pts 12 Bob White, Paradise Street School of Arms, Lambeth, London, England. Referee: J. T. Hulls. With both men in excellent condition it was even over the first four rounds, but then Sullivan (117½) started to do more of the fighting as White (118) weakened and ran out a worthy winner, his left lead and body punching taking the eye. Despite a lack of billing, Sullivan was claiming the English 118lbs title on the result.
