1889-11-07 (112lbs) Jimmy Kennard w rtd 7 (finish) Harry Walton, Buffalo, New York, USA. Contested somewhere in Walden Avenue Road in a private house, wearing two-ounce gloves, and made at 110lbs, give or take two pounds, Walton (110), who was having the best of it until slipping over and being hit while on the floor, appealed for a foul and was refused. He then decided not to continue, leaving the referee to award the contest to Kennard (112). The latter was so badly used up that another round would have finished him.
