1890-04-02 (107lbs) Billy Plimmer w co 5 (20) Tim Buckley, South London Gym, Kennington, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. Billed for the 107lbs English title, Plimmer (105) was soon in control after Buckley (106½) tore into him from the opening bell, his punches being wild and lacking power. Although Buckley was taking a pasting he recovered wonderfully well at the start of the fourth, but before the end of the session he weakened badly and was nearly put out by two right hands to the jaw. Coming out for the fifth, with Plimmer looking for closure, Buckley was dropped by a solid right to the point and duly counted out.
