1890-04-30 (135lbs) Billy Myer w co 6 (10) Jack Hopper, Lannon’s Opera House, Alexandria, Virginia, USA. Referee: George Mantz. Articled to a finish under MoQ Rules, using two-ounce gloves, it ended up as a ten-rounder to decide the American 135lbs title. Confined almost entirely to body blows, the fight was ended in the sixth after Myer smashed in a terrific blow to Hopper’s jaw that saw the latter counted out.
