1890-05-22 (133lbs) Andy Bowen w rtd 29 (finish) Billy Myer, West End AC, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Referee: Pat Kenrick. In a fight billed for the 133lbs lightweight title, using five-ounce gloves, Myer (133½) lost his championship claim and his unbeaten record to Bowen (130¾) when retiring after the bell rang to start the 29th round having damaged his hands too badly to fight on. Prior to that it had been even with no knockdowns recorded, although both men were pretty much exhausted from their exertions.
