1890-06-16 (122lbs) Jimmy Lynch w co 18 (finish) Paddy McBride, Eureka Grove Dancing Pavilion, Oak Point, NYC, New York, USA. Billed for the American 122lbs title, and contested in kid gloves with the fingers cut off, Lynch weighed 122lbs to McBride’s 119½. Although Lynch broke his right wrist with his first hit he kept going to outlast McBride, and after both men had been on the floor in the 17th round he stepped in with a tremendous left to knock his rival out in the next session.
