Held in a local skating rink, contested in skin-tight gloves, and billed for the world 132lbs title, with some rounds passing without a blow being struck prior to the 19th the action was poor. Eventually, after one hour and 13 minutes, Cushing (127½), already badly cut on the left cheek, was counted out in the act of rising having been dropped by a right to the head.
