1890-11-06 (132lbs) Austin Gibbons w co 19 (finish) Mike Cushing, Oakland Beach, Rhode Island, USA. Held in a local skating rink and billed for the world 132lbs title, with some rounds passing without a blow being struck prior to the 19th the action was poor. Contested in skin-tight gloves, after one hour and 13 minutes Cushing (127½), already badly cut on the left cheek, was counted out in the act of rising after being dropped by a right to the head.

Gibbons (132) was claiming the championship at 130 and 132lbs following his victory.
