Line 1: Line 1:
1891-03-12 (154lbs) Ted Pritchard w co 3 (finish) Jack Burke, Albany Club, Holloway, London, England. Referee: George Vize. Billed for the English 154lbs title, both men were reported as being inside the weight. By the second round Pritchard was well in control of the contest, closing Burke down, and towards the end of the session he sent the Irishman to the floor from a blow to the neck. Told to set about Burke right from the bell to begin the third, Pritchard was soon picking his punches and after having his rival over three times another right to the neck produced the knockout that the latter had been looking for. Following this, Arthur Bobbett won a 154lbs championship competition when outpointing Bill Husbands at the Pelican Club, Soho, London on 14 March.
