18 March (102lbs) George Beach w co 7 (15) Mike Small, Albany Club, Islington, London, England. Referee: H. McEvoy. Billed for the English 102lbs title, Small started the better when winning the opening four rounds, before Beach came back strongly in the fifth to have his man in some distress. In the sixth, however, Small was back in command after flooring Beach twice, but full of confidence in the seventh he walked on to a right to the jaw and was counted out.

On 4 April at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Westminster, London, Con Haggerty outpointed Alf Sparrow over four rounds of a 102lbs championship competition.
