18 June (90lbs) Harry Munro w rtd 9 (finish) Bill Stanley, London, England. Referee: Charlie Bates. Contested on a private show in the east end of London and billed for the world and English 90lb titles using two-ounce gloves, both men made a fast start and it was relatively even up to the fifth round. In that session, however, Stanley had to hang on to survive after being caught by a right to the jaw and from thereon he was always running second best to Munro before holding his arm out in token surrender in the ninth.
