1891-09-11 (135lbs) Jack McAuliffe w rsc 6 (finish) Austin Gibbons, Granite Club, Hoboken, New Jersey, USA. Referee: Jerry Dunn. Made at 135lbs, and contested in four-ounce gloves, McAuliffe (135) was awarded the fight after the police called it off. McAuliffe had been on top all the way, and with Gibbons (130½) pouring blood from a bad cut over the left eye the police chief had seen enough.
