19 October (112lbs) Bill Moore w pts 20 Charlie Tilley, London, England. Referee: Harry Wingate. Although not reported as being a title bout at 112lbs it definitely had a bearing on the English championship at that weight and was held somewhere in London’s west end. Tilley had the advantage in height and reach and used it well at times when stopping Moore from landing solidly, but it was the latter who threw the heavier punches throughout in what became a hard-fought contest right to the end. At times Tilley scored well with straight lefts, especially between the third and seventh rounds, but was unable to dominate his rival who was always looking to work the body to his advantage.
