Line 1: Line 1:
1892-05-02 (142lbs) Tom Williams w co 1 (20) Bill Hatcher, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Tom Anderson. Made at 143lbs, give or take a pound, and free of title billing, Williams (142) extended his Imperial British Empire title claim at 140lbs following his win over Hatcher (142). Although lasting less than a round there was plenty of action after the men had rushed in swinging punches from both hands. The moment Hatcher was badly dazed from several blows to the jaw it was all over for him as Williams kept punching and after knocking his man down again and again the Londoner was eventually counted out.
