1892-05-16 (126lbs) [[Charlie Tilley]] w pts 20 [[Harry Greenfield]], NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: George Vize. In a match made at 126lbs, early on it looked as though Greenfield (124¾) might be too strong for Tilley (125), especially after dropping the latter with a terrific right to the jaw in the fourth round. There were several more opportunities for Greenfield to lay his man low, but unfortunately for him he failed to take them and by the tenth Tilley was scoring extremely well with the left. From thereon, while Greenfield was never out of the fight, it was Tilley who took the eyes of the judges, his better accuracy marking up his opponent’s face and at the same time keeping him at bay.
