28 December (110lbs) Billy Plimmer w rtd 8 (20) Joe McGrath, Coney Island AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Pete Donohue. Billed for the world 110lbs title, with a $1,500 purse as the prize, both men were on the limit and having been floored several times the badly battered McGrath was retired by his backers. Following his victory, Plimmer challenged any man in the world and was taken up by Danny McBride prior to the fight being cancelled.
