1893-09-25 (120lbs) George Dixon w co 7 (20)Solly Smith, Coney Island AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Johnny Eckhardt. Billed for the world 120lbs title, with both men inside, it was even for the first five rounds until Dixon opened up to drop the challenger at least six times in the sixth with body blows. Down twice more in the seventh, Smith was then knocked out by a terrific right to the jaw.
