Line 1: Line 1:
1893-10-30 (130lbs) [[Martin Denny]] w pts 20 [[Joe Lambert]], NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. Despite a lack of billing, Denny (128½) put his 130lbs title claim on the line against Lambert (127½) and while having by far the better of the points he was unable to finish the latter off. To his credit, Lambert was always looking for openings and even in the last session he came with a determined onslaught on Denny’s ribs, but it was not enough.
