Although there was no advertisement as such, it was later rumoured that the contest carried 140lbs world title billing, which Tracey (half-brother to heavyweight [[Dan Creedon]]) as the Australian champion at the weight had a part claim. Articled for ten rounds when both men decided to carry on it went to a finish and Tracey was smashed to the floor twice in the 16th round before being knocked out.
