1894-08-02 (90lbs) Harry Munro w co 5 (20) Tom Watson, Red Cross Public House, Bethnal Green, London, England. Referee: Bob Watson. Although no weights were given, in what was another fight that was thought to involve Munro’s 90lbs English (world) title claim the latter knocked his man out with a left to the stomach. Initially, Watson had wanted two-minute rounds, but he never let himself down over the three-minute route and had contested every point up to the finish.
In December, Alf Langford claimed the title, while Ted Beach won a 90lbs championship competition at the Central Hall, Holborn, London on 2 February 1895, outpointing Charlie Broadbank over four rounds, after earlier eliminating Harry Ashley, who had beaten Munro.
