1894-08-21 (133lbs) Jack Everhardt w co 25 (25) Stanton Abbott, Olympic Club, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Referee: L. S. Gerhardt. Billed for the world 133lbs title, Abbott (132) made a positive start when attacking the body and eventually had Everhardt (132½) down from a left to the face in the 11th round. Right through to the 22nd Abbott appeared to be in control, but from there onwards he began to tire and in the final session, having been knocked down half a dozen times in the 24th, he was finally knocked out. Newspaper reports claimed that Everhardt continually fouled Abbott without being warned by the referee.
